Ausgebildet in Berlin und New York realisiere ich seit über zwei Jahrzehnten aufwendige Film-Projekte. Meine Kamera reist weit. Atemlos bewegt sie sich durch unterschiedlichste Genres und Epochen, von unzähligen Musikvideos bis hin zum Doku-Drama. Sie folgt der Hanse über das Meer, Hannibal über alpine Pässe, dem Bernstein entlang alter Handelswege. Die Überlebenden von Auschwitz begleitet sie zu den Nürnberger Prozessen, trifft auf die Gladow-Bande im Nachkriegs-Berlin, folgt den Ermittlern der Reeperbahn-Spezialeinheit FD65 oder taucht ein in digitale Schattenwelten wie im Dokumentarfilm „23 – Der mysteriöse Tod eines Hackers“.
Ich arbeite dort, wo Dokumentation und szenisches Erzählen ineinander übergehen – an den Rändern des Realen, im dramatischen Kern der Geschichte. Jede Produktion ist für mich weniger ein Auftrag als eine Expedition. Die Kamera ist dabei mein Instrument, um Unsichtbares sichtbar zu machen – immer auf der Suche nach dem Moment der alles erzählt.
Ich arbeite dort, wo Dokumentation und szenisches Erzählen ineinander übergehen – an den Rändern des Realen, im dramatischen Kern der Geschichte. My camera is constantly in motion, traveling across genres and eras — from numerous music videos to docudrama. It follows the Hanseatic League across the seas, Hannibal over alpine passes, and the amber routes along ancient trade paths. It accompanies survivors of Auschwitz to the Nuremberg Trials, encounters the Gladow Gang in post-war Berlin, follows investigators from Hamburg’s Reeperbahn special unit FD65, and dives into digital shadow worlds such as the documentary “23 – The Mysterious Death of a Hacker.”
I work at the intersection where documentary and staged storytelling merge — at the edges of reality, in the dramatic core of history. For me, each production is less an assignment than an expedition. The camera is my instrument for making the unseen visible—always in search of the one moment that tells the whole story.
